Chapter Meeting - Hands-on Class

We will explore two unique products

     Perfetto's Lastricato

           and Adicolor's Metal Series

 

Students will produce 3 boards in class



Lastricato by Perfetto is a water-based, Venetian-style, polishing plaster with the capability of burnishing to an extremely high gloss with relatively little effort. (I know, I know...yet another Venetian plaster...but this one really does polishes beautifully and easily.

 

Metal Series by Adicolor is a densely-pigmented, silkly gel available in 13 colors of metallic lusters, pearls, and iridescents.  Very thick, it is ideal for vertical applications as well as horizontal surfaces.

Supplies Students Should Bring

• 3 sample boards no larger than 11"x17" based in a good quality latex paint (not craft paint). Two of the boards based in a light peach e.g. BM 2166-60.  One based in a light warm beige, e.g. BM OC2
• Optional - additional boards, same size, same prepping, off-white or light warm beige.
• Metal trowel
• 3" putty knife
• Foamcore or other stiff surface, 13"x19" Container for water for rinsing trowel at your seat
• Shop or paper towels
• Blue painter's tape
• T-shirt rag
• 2" or 3" chip brush
• Notepad
• Optional - 1-overlay stencil, any favorite design
• Optional - tiny condiment cups with lids (surplus tints may be available)
• Optional - vinyl gloves
• Optional - checkbook for April class registration
