We will be using
Royal Design Studio's
Italianate Ivy
and
Acanthus Corner
stencils to create a 2'x3' floor cloth. (Beautiful designs whose
pictures don't do them justice.) Samples will be on display at the
Christmas party
, Dec 11 (guests welcome).
Students will learn:

Faux verdigris and at least two other simple finishes

Roller painting

How to make a floor cloth from start to finish including conception, layout, execution,
and finishing

Resources and product tips
-
Stenciling basics
We're planning on extensive Q&A and round-table-style discussion.
Included in the fee are both stencils (a $39 retail value), pre-prepped Roc-Lon
Multipurpose Cloth, printed instructions, pictures, and metallic paints.

Supply List
1. Masking tape (not blue painter's tape)
2. Long ruler or yard stick
3. Sharpie
4. Pencil and pen, sharp points best
5. Sharp scissors
7. Paper or shop towels
8. 2" chip or foam brush
9. Any size palette paper or meat trays, etc. (for stencil paints)
10. Acrylic paints: (1) Folk Art Sky Blue, (2) Folk Art Forest Green, (3)
burnt umber* any brand, (4) black* any brand.
11. Stencil brushes, good quality, minimum of:
(1) three 1" or 1 1/4"
(2) three 1/2"
(3) one 3/4" or another 1/2"
(4) one 1/4" or 3/8"
12. 4" dense foam roller and handle

13. Large (12"x16") palette pad or foil-wrapped cookie sheet *
14. Putty knife, i.e. plastic scraper ("spatula"), 3" minimum

15. 1/4" tape, optional

16. Modello burnisher if you have one
Note: *Two students can share the items with an asterisk. If you're
planning on sharing a table with someone in particular, only one of you need bring
the item. There will be two students to each table.
