Paint and Stencil Memory Boxes
This is one of the
most relaxed
, genuinely fun
projects and one of the most rewarding in which you'll ever participate! Through the
Memory Box Artist Program
, our finished boxes will be given to hospital bereavement counselors, who in turn will give the boxes to the families of newborn infants who die in the hospital or are stillborn.
You don't need to be a great artist or experienced stenciler to participate
.
Great event for beginners
Sit next to almost anyone and learn for free
Individual help is always available
Printed stenciling instructions will be on hand
The Chapter will provide 8-inch, heart-shaped, paper mache boxes
Please Note
- We've been asked to avoid all religious designs including angels.
Participants
should bring
(1) a neutral color acrylic paint to use as a base coat (craft paint ok)
(2) favorite stencil brushes or artist brushes
(3) if you plan to stencil, favorite stencil designs that will fit an
8" heart shaped box No religious or angel designs.
Remember, a free stencil comes with each Artistic Stenciler magazine.
and several members always bring extra stencils that can be borrowed.
(4) Your own paint or stenciling medium (paint, creme, Shiva stick)
(5) Optional, gold acrylic/craft paint for inside of boxes
Participants who don't want to paint or stencil ...
can help by painting the inside of the boxes with gold paint
