Explore how to set your work apart from the crowd with the creative use of architectural ornament.
Demo - Hudson Kershner of BeauxArtes will demonstrate the use and installation of architectural wall panels and composition ornament.  Samples of all types of ornament will be available, including ornament with canvas, with mirror, etc.
Hands-on - On a 2'x2' panel, students will install either a French Renaissance (below left) or Georgian Corner (below right) and 2 strips of moulding.  Student samples will be portfolio quality and ready for finishing at home in various ways.
Demo - The installation of the Neoclassical Architectural Wall Panel (framing blue Venetian plaster) for mirror or masonite, a technique quite different from that of the other wall panels, will be demonstrated.
Demo - Also demonstrated will be the use of composition ornament for cabinet, fireplaces, and wall installation.  The image below shows both composition ornament (on the cabinet doors and fireplace) and plaster ornament.  Composition and plaster ornaments can be seen at The Decorators Supply Corp.
Discussion - Installation of plaster ornamentation for ceilings, etc., and the historical installation of plaster boisorie [paneling] will also be discussed.
